Job Description

We are currently seeking a Software Engineer (Data) to support NYIAX’s growing ingest and reporting ecosystem. This role is focused on data pipelines development to keep NYIAX positioned as the most highly regarded forward contract management platform in the advertising and media market. This opportunity is challenging and exciting, allowing you to work on groundbreaking engineering and ad tech/fintech problems with a passionate, motivated, and highly-talented team of Product Managers, Engineers, Client Solutions, and Sales.

We work in a fast-paced environment and are seeking someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a distributed team. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a passion for solving complex business and technical challenges. Qualified candidates should ideally have 1-3 years of experience working as a Software/Data Engineer. You will work directly with the Chief Software Architect building out one of the most important parts of the platform. You will work closely with the Client Solutions team to support team members to ensure success.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Key Responsibilities

• Development and support of data pipelines
• Data requirements analysis and documentation
• Data monitoring, migration, and backfills
• Data quality analysis and maintenance
• Pipeline framework feature development and documentation
• Monitoring and support of big-data infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is a passionate software engineer who is both detail-oriented and customer-oriented with experience building big data pipelines and ETLs
• Passion for data and data-processing and interest in big data
• 1-3 years of experience in a Software/Data Engineer role
• Experience with JVM based languages like Java and Scala
• Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases like Postgres and MongoDB
• Fluency in Agile development and experience with human-centered design processes
• Passion for improving existing code and engineering processes
• Strong communicator with the ability to help Client Solutions team with data requirements/process
• Professional, outgoing, confident with sound written and oral communication skills
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science or engineering)
